Everybody Else: Everybody Else Reviews

Review by Jocelyn

The music of Everybody Else, who released their first album in 2007, seemed to drop very suddenly into my life. I first discovered the band when I attended Hanson’s Walk Around The World tour in September 2008 at a local venue. The second Carrick Moore Gerety (the band lead’s singer) took the stage and started singing, I knew I’d be buying their album before the end of the night.

The band’s performance of tracks from their self-titled album, Everybody Else, gave Hanson’s fans everything they were looking for in a show-opener and more. Easily one of the most charismatic performances I’ve ever seen, the band opened with a slow piece, before quickly moving on to the upbeat songs that make up most of the album. Though the band performed their album acoustically, both versions are absolutely worth checking out – though their original, electric version does put more energy and drive into their songs.

Specific songs to check out: “Without You”, which was recently featured on 90210; “Makeup”, which has one of the catchiest melodies on the album; and “Meat Market”, their most popular song – and my favourite. Make sure to check out the music video for the latter – it will have you hoping the three talented band members will crash one of your parties.
