This album shows just how much Aly & AJ have grown--both in the lyrics and their voices. Especially AJ's--hers sound wonderful. (Not that Aly's doesn't.)
One of my all-time favorite songs on the album is 'Flattery'. How can I explain it? It's one of those songs you keep playing over and over again. It's really beautiful, deep, and honestly sad. "I can forgive it, I can't forget it. You left me here with all these scars." and "We're more hurt than we appear."
The other is 'Blush'. Aly's playing the piano and is the only one singing. Her voice sounds gergous. The song is talking about how a person is really honest in what they say, that "You openly admit the things you want more from me." and "That you won't censor anything.". But even though she kind of enjoys all the sweet talk, it's not going to get her into bed them. But then she sings ,"Go ahead and say it. If you must make me blush." This is a more mature song.
Potential Breakup Song is different from their songs on Into The Rush. Because it's more Pop than just Rock. But it doesn't really matter, because the lyrics grab you. "You're livin' til livin-livin with me." and "Without me you're gonna die."
Overall, there are a lot of great songs on here, but those are just some of my favorites. I think it's one of the great albums to come out I think you should give this album a try or borrow it from a friend who already has it. Because I believe it's worth it.
