Drake Bell: It's Only Time - Review by Kelly

Drake Bell makes a smooth trasition from star of Nickelodeon's "Drake and Josh" to talented and established singer/songwriter. "It's Only Time" is Drake Bell's amazing sophmore album, packed with fresh lyrics and hooks, catchy beats, and even an homage to the Beatles. Fans of Drake's amazing vocals and well-written lyrics will definitely not be disappointed with this CD; and those who have just be introduced to Drake's music will be amazed at his talents.

The CD also includes a bonus DVD including a guitar lesson from Drake on "Found A Way," outtakes from the CD's photoshoot, the video for the album's first single, "I Know," and a special acoustic performance of "Somehow," a raw and soulful track from Drake's first album, "Telegraph."

Track Listings:

1. Up Periscope- A strong start for the CD. The first 40 seconds are kinda gimmicky for the whole periscope thing, but it's got memorable lyrics and a likable tune. 9/10

2. I Know- Perfect placement after Up Periscope. Amazing guitar riffs done by Drake himself. Plus, the video for this single is adorable. 10/10

3. Do What You Want- Not my favorite song on of the album, but the lyrics fit perfectly with the music. 7.5/10

4. It's Only Time- A little repetitive at times. Not the best lyrics, but the perfect balance of pop and rock to let you forget about all that. 8/10

5. Found A Way (Acoustic)- Probably the second best song on this album. Amazing vocals and guitar by Drake. I absolutely loved it. 10+/10

6. Makes Me Happy- Reminded me a lot of Zoey 101. Probably because it started out as an transitioning track for the show. Cute lyrics, better music. 7.5/10

7. Fool The World- Loved, loved, loved the vocals on this track. Almost as much as I loved the music. 9/10

8. Fallen For You- The start of a "four-track story" telling the tales of three different relationships. Also where Drake pays homage to the second side of The Beatles Abbey Road Album. An okay song from my point of view. I wasn't a big fan of the music, but I was infatuated with the lyrics. 8/10

9. Rusted Silhouette- Arguably the best song of the album. Amazing piano riff, on the same level as Drake's vocals. The lyrics use such intriguing language, it's hard to listen to this song and not fall in love with it. 10+/10

10. Break Me Down- Loved this song. Amazing opening, strong middle, great ending with a throwback to the rest of the album. 7.5/10

11. End It Good- Definitely not my favorite track. In fact, I found it a little unnecessary, but I suppose it works with the Fallen For You, Rusted Silhouette, and Break Me Down trilogy. All in all, a pretty good end for the album. 6.5/10
