Kainos: Alive Review - by Kat
Stuck on your Head: I'll be here when you come back down and I'll catch you before you hit the ground. And when your world stops spinning around.

'Alive' is the debut album from the fantastic new rock band Kainos! Their name derives from the greek meaning 'New, recently made, new to the possessor, renovated, better, or higher excellence'. Fantastic name, fantastic album.

Kainos' music is rock in a similar vein to that of Evanescence. I'm not sure if I'd completely agree with the last statement. Their music is definitely rock but somewhat hazier then that of Evanescence. Both members of the band, husband and wife, Ben and Hannah Stacy contribute to vocals. Their voices provide a sharp and beautiful contrast.

The lyrics speak greatly of the bands faith in God, encouraging modern day believers to not be complacent or give in to the status quo.

My personal favorites are the debut single 'Selfish Me', 'Selfish me, I'm asking you for hand', 'When you come back down', 'I watched your shadow move down the street, you fade into the night', and 'You and I', 'The walls they are so high, together we will cry, for you are who I am'.

'Alive' is a fantastic rock album. Be sure to get a copy!
