Mat Kearney: Nothing Left to Lose Review - by Amanda

Mat is an amazing new artist who has a very impressive tour background. He opened for John Mayer and Sheryl Crow on their summer 2006 tour, as well as Miracle on State Street in Chicago, Illinois this December. Every song on the album is really good, but my favorites are "Nothing Left to Lose", "Crashing Down", "In the Middle", "Where We Gonna Go From Here", and "Girl America".

"Nothing Left to Lose" is the first single off the album, and it's written so well; the lyrics are amazing. "Crashing Down" is about the world falling apart around you. "Girl America" is about this generation growing up so fast, and it really makes you think about the world and how much it's changed in the last fifty years. "In the Middle" is about making love last through the years. "Where We Gonna Go From Here" is about two people figuring out their relationship; it's acoustic, which really makes the song better, if that's even possible. Mat is really going to go places with his music, he's not only a great musician, but a really down to earth, kind, funny person, and I wish him all the best.
