Push Play: Deserted - Review by Kat

Push Play have hit the music scene and I can already hear the teenage girls screaming. The teen rock band has put together a fun pop/rock album of infectious tunes, synthesized vocals, and fun lyrics.

Highlights include the fast track ‘Plastique’ (‘I’m not made of plastic, Got to get out, and be drastic, ‘Cause what I got, baby what I’ve got is real’), the slow ballad ‘Dreamers’ (‘Singing we were dreamers, every single day, singing we were believers, in every single way’), ‘Stop Staring’, the track you’re most likely to get stuck on your head (‘Stop staring, stop looking at me now’) and ‘The Life’ a familiar track from their web series (‘This is the life, this is the dream and it’s nothing as it seems. Every minute, every second is so real’)

Though the style of music is something I’ve grown out of in recent years I can tell this is an album I would have adored in my teen days and definitely one I recommend for those still in theirs. It’s a fun combo or pop and rock that should appeal to fans of both styles.
