While depth may not be on offer you’re bound to find a good time in Skye Sweetnam’s sophomore album ‘Sound Soldier’

The first single ‘Human’ is a fun and somewhat confusing track that is an album highlight. (”We’re only humans and separated by our thoughts”). Like most songs on the album it’s fun to dance and sing along to.

Other highlights include the club anthem ‘Music is my boyfriend’ (“Don’t know that, don’t know that my boyfriend is bang, the boom, the beat”) and the equally fun and catchy ‘Boyhunter’ (“Get on your knees, hands up boys, I just love saying!”). “Lets get moving (Into Action)” is the odd one out on the album with an unusual beat equipped with horns and quick lyrics (“If you start with nothing, Gotta build it up. If you got a dream you gotta follow it up”). “Cartoon” is certainly another favorite of mine (“like to live like I'm in a cartoon. Yes I'm chasing you all around the room!”)

All in all, if you’re looking for a slow ballad don’t look for ‘Sound Soldier’. If you’re looking for up beat songs you can dance to without being overly challenged this is definitely the album for you.
