This is an exceptional book about an exceptional lady. Lady Jane Grey was raised as fourth in line for queen of England. She was beaten by her parents, lived in court and was adopted all by the age of thirteen. She learned to conceal secrets and to know when to speak out when something could be hurtful to others. She learns to stand up for her beliefs, even if facing death.

The story starts with Jane at the age of nine, living with her parents, being abused and wishing for a different life. That different life comes when she is invited to spend time at court with the King, his two daughters, Elizabeth and Mary, and his son, Edward, the next King of England. She befriends the King’s wife, Katherine and Sir Thomas, Prince Edward’s beloved uncle. Sir Thomas promises to adopt her and to arrange a marriage with Prince Edward.

But when she goes to live with Sir Thomas and Katherine, things begin to change for Jane. Everything seems fine at first, but Jane soon learns that there is more to people than meets the eye.

This is the true story of Lady Jane Grey, her life, her short rules as queen of England and her strong belief in Protestant Christianity. Lady Jane Grey is one inspiring lady, because she stood up for her faith and her beliefs even if it meant losing a friendship to save another, or even to be put to death.
