Floe’s finally back in Venice Beach with her newly dethawed parents and her gorgeous boyfriend Taz. Life is good though she’s struggling with hover driving and having trouble fitting in with Taz’s cool new friends but all this seems minor when Dr. Dixon reveals that the once cryonically preserved have weakened immune systems and are very vulnerable to illness and disease. There is a ray of hope though – Bea Dixon’s old flame; the brilliant and totally MIA Dr. Simkofsky. Can Floe find him before she’s put on ice for good?
Beyond Cool is a totally fun ride with Floe an appealing and ‘can do’ heroine as ever. She continues to be an inspiration to readers with her fearless and unstoppable nature.
The glimpses into the not so distant future are fun, (and I thought driving a normal car was hard?!) not to mention the pop culture references – Apple Martin is rocking up the music charts and though no one has heard of Tom and Katie, Suri Cruise is the latest teen queen. Not to mention what to do when your ‘noughties’ clueless classmates want to write their paper on the culturally significant musical contributions of ... K-Fed!
Beyond Cool is a must read. So curl up, chill and check it out!
