Fact: The author Theresa Breslin is a Carnegie Medal Winner

Kezzie tells the story of a 14-year-old girl surviving with her Grandfather and little sister after the death of her parents, during the Depression. When her little sister gets seperated from the family she becomes so upset she forgets her name and is thus thought an orphan. She is then sent to Canada to be adopted out to a family there. Kezzie must follow her sister half way around the world from her homeland of Scotland and attempt to reunite whats left of her family.

Kezzie is a powerful story about very difficult times. Not many young adult books are set during the depression and this book really shows how much we have to be grateful for today. Kezzie is a strong and wonderful heroine. All the characters in this book are very likeable. An amazing read! You must check it out!
