Knife Edge - the follow up to
Noughts and Crosses, follows Sephy's life in the months after her daughter's birth and her struggle to come to terms with Callum's death while trying to protect Callie Rose from noughts, crosses, Jude, and even herself. She moves in with Callum's mother to try to get help, and by doing so finds herself in a neighbourhood where neither she nor her daughter is wanted, purely because of the colour of Callie Rose's skin. However, just as she is starting to accept her situation, and her daughter, a letter from Callum arrives to
tear her apart again.
Jude is bitter. He hates crosses, yet he finds himself dating one. He blames Sephy for Callum's death, and vows to bring her down using her only true weakness: Her child.
This book is filled with tragedy and makes you question what is right and wrong. It really is a fascinating read.
