But then suddenly Aspen’s world comes crashing down around her when the grown is placed on rival Aspen Ives head. To make matters worse the school’s biggest dork is crowned homecoming King! Angel isn’t happy either and totally accuses Aspen of being behind it. As if!
Then things start getting really weird. Angel goes missing and threatening messages are being left for Aspen, not excluding the slashing of her precious cars tires. She’s certain Angel must be behind it all somehow and Aspen isn’t going down without a fight!
Revenge of the Homecoming Queen is a fun debut novel from author Stephanie Hale. The title character is both frustrating and appealing, heroic and shallow and you’ll find yourself cheering her on. I personally fell for Aspen’s Prince Charming in disguise; Rand and I’m sure you will too. The fashion references throughout the story are a lot of fun and Stephanie Hale perfectly captures the voice of a teenage girl.
No story is complete without a story and ‘Revenge’ proves you can’t always judge by the outside without first taking a look inside.
Revenge of the Homecoming Queen is an amusing read for lovers of Mean Girls and Heathers - check it out!
Note: Due to some sexual references and foul language this book isn’t appropriate for Portrait’s youngest readers. Definitely geared toward older teens.
