Saving Francesca is the second novel by Australian Author Melina Marchetta, author of Looking for Alibrandi.

Francesca has recently left behind her beloved girls school due to the fact that it only went up to a certain school year. Due to zoning she now attends a different school to her friends. Said school is in fact a former boys school with hundreds of male students and only forty girls. To make matters worse; Francesca's mother has had a nervous breakdown and her family is falling apart.

Marchetta portrays the most realistic and loveable array of characters. You will truly fall in love with them. The story deals with heartbreak and humor - the facets of growing up.

I couldn't put Saving Francesca down and was so disappointed to see that I was nearing the end; I didn't want the story to finish.

Very much recommended!
