A Lot Like Love
Review by: Laura

There's nothing better than a great romance... to ruin a perfectly good friendship.

New graduate Oliver is taking a trip to New York, on a flight he 'meets' Emily a vibrant, angry young woman; they spend the weekend together in New York during which Oliver mentions his life plan: to become sucessful, marry and have children (Strictly in that order) within 7 years; after some debate over this he makes a bet with Emily: she's to call him in 7 years and find out if he's suceeded with his dream; if he hasn't she wins 50 dollars.

A few years later Emily needs a date for a New Years party and calls Oliver; reviving their friendship and proving the spark that was there when they first met definitely hasn't died out. From this time they reconnect at various different times over 7 years, they're acquaintances, they're friends, they're the King and Queen of bad timing.

This is without a doubt one of the best romantic comedies I've seen in ages. The story is fantastic, the chemistry too. Ashton Kutcher isn't his normal hyperactive, annoying self which saves the film from being juvenile. Amanda Peet is really like in the film, the first film I've actually liked her in.

This is a must see!
