Review by: Elizabeth

Rated: R

Staring: Emile Hirsch, Justin Timberlake, Bruce Willis, Ben Foster, and Anton Yelchin

The film, Alpha Dog, is based on the true-life stories of Jesse James Hollywood. Set in the L.A. area, a group of teenagers have nothing else to look foreword to in their life. With living without principles, you never know what will happen. And six years ago in the L.A. area, something did happen.

Johnny Truelove (Hirsch) lives life by sells drugs on he streets of his high priced neighborhood. Johnny has everything he wants. He has the girls, the parties, and his loyal friends that follow him everywhere he goes.

After one of his hothead buddies, Jake (Foster), crosses him over a money deal gone bad, Johnny decides that it's payback time. Johnny and his gang kidnap Jake's little brother, Zack (Yelchin), on instict and hold him as ransom and head to sunny Palm Springs.

Over the course of just three days, they find themselves growing close to Zack. With no parents around to watch him, they must take care of the kid and still have a good time. Zack has no complaints and enjoys the days of drinking, partying, girls, and new experiences.

Johnny and his boys find themselves in a tough situation with Zack. They figure out that they just cannot just bring him back home. Things turn bad when Johnny finds himself out of his league, they then find them selves in a conclusion they never saw coming true.

The film has a tolerable story line that deals with drugs, sex, and crime. Emile Hirsch did an incredible job with his performance as the drug dealer. There has been some talk in tinsel town about Justin Timberlake's performance. He acted in a funky/comedic yet serious way. Timberlake does a good job in Alpha Dog.

So, if you are into the drugs and crime check the movie out, if you just want to see how Timberlake does, wait until it gets released on DVD.
