Captain Jack is back and could we be any happier?
Following the record breaking success of Dead Man’s Chest the Pirates of the Carribean gang are back with the third film in the trilogy: At World’s End. Taking place almost immediately after < I>Dead Man’s Chest Will, Elizabeth, Barbossa and the rest of the crew are setting out on a dangerous mission to retrieve Jack Sparrow from Davy Jones locker. Beckett now controls Davy Jones heart and resultingly forms an alliance with him with the intentions of ruling the seas and wiping out every last pirate,
Jack, Barbossa, Will, Elizabeth, Tia Delma, and crew must call the Pirate Lords from the four corners of the globe, including the infamous Sao Feng (Chow-Yun Fat), to gathering where they must decide to fight and make their last stand.
At World’s End is truly epic in every way. The special effects are breathtaking as with every Pirates film before it. The action doesn’t let up once and unlike the recent Spiderman 3 you don’t get bored with the three our duration, in fact, you never want it to end.
The performances are as good as ever, especially from Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow. We’re rather spoilt for choice with the Jack character this time around as we on occasion see his thought process via three Jack’s arguing and debating. At the film’s beginning he’s helming the Black Pearl in Davy Jones locker with a whole crew of inept and disobedient Jack’s (and one goat). What’s more there’s nothing to eat but half a peanut and he’s being stalked by rocks (which don’t taste very good. He checked…) What more can I say? At World’s End is a fantastic film that you certainly must see, and you must see it on the big screen to enjoy the stunning visual effects
