Balls of Fury
Review by: Kseniya Gadaleta

Ping pong doesn’t really come across as a “major” sport. I can’t see why some would even call it a sport! To me, ping pong was a fun, safe game people do in their spare time, and you wouldn’t expect much of it. This movie definitely takes the “safe” away from ping pong!

As a kid, Randy Daytona (Dan Fogler) was the biggest threat in the name of Ping Pong. He was amazingly good at the sport, and always beat his opponents, until one striking match. He screwed up, and never played ping pong since. The movie takes you into Randy’s 30’s where he is working as a loser in society, but gets caught up in the sport all over again.

After being taken in to help the FBI catch Fang (Christopher Walken), a former Ping Pong prodigy, Randy has to regain his ping pong skills and enter a Do-or-Die competition with the help of his friends and trainer.

The movie is definitely funny at some parts, but a little over the top. I would say, take a chance and see it! You never know, you might love it or hate it! Depends on what kind of “comedy” you’re into.
