I have to say this movie isn't very original; it's just a typical Friday night chick flick with an expected happy ending, which I'm kind of getting sick of. Because the movie is an ABC family production, expect to see some commercials of ABC family shows in the movie! (In the scenes when Lane is passing by the news stand, the first time there's an ad for Ten Things I Hate About You, and the second time an ad for Make It or Break It.) That was annoying for me, because I hate commercials anyway, and I know a lot of people who do as well, so to see commercials in a movie, well now that was just amazingly annoying for me.
Another thing I found weird about the movie is that there were some characters who were left with no names! And they didn't have just a couple of lines in the movie.
I have always been a fan of Hilary Duff's movies. They're always amusing and fun, and when you don't want to think, they're perfect! But this one got to a boring point, when I just wanted it to finish. I know the pressure that is put on teen sensations, and how as they grow up they have to do more mature films, but this one is so silly for an adult, and so boring for a teen.
Ok, I'm going to stop crushing this movie, and look on the bright side:
like I said, the movie is a typical chick flick. So if you are into
chick flicks, it's perfect for a Friday night in.
Also, I really liked how the movie goes inside Lane's head, just like Mean Girls. The hero of the story narrates the movie. Another thing I liked was Lane's character. It was fun at the beginning of the movie, the thoughts in her head were cool and amusing, although they got boring at the end of the movie, but they were a high point.
