The film starts of slowly, not really going anywhere until Jesse meets Leslie. It is slightly dissappointing that there isn't much more to the land of Terabithia, where as I personally imagined it would be more like Narnia. The relationship between both main characters is a sympathetic one, and you really begin to understand how much they do need each other.
When the ending takes a tragic turn it is one of the only, despite very well done, twists in the story. The moment can actually be quite tear jerking, and I must admit, I was a tad choked up in the movie theater!
I don't think the movie is suited for very young children, as it is not all about the land of Terabithia itself, it is more about the relationship and problems that Terabithia is parallel to. When a problem is solved in Terabithia, it helps the children solve the equivalent in real life.
If you're into action and adventure, this movie may not be the one for you, but if you're more into the 'pulling on the heartstrings' movie, this is definitely the one for you.

Bridge to Terabithia really wasn't what I expected after seeing the films trailer. My original expectation was an almost entirely fantasy filled film but the reality is very different and I'm glad. In reality very little of the film actually takes place in Terabithia and what little does is almost a mirror image of the reality in the characters lives.
The film paints a vivid picture of bullying many of us suffer in school while portraying both negative and positive ways to deal with it.
Terabithia and how both Leslie and Jesse create it is something I think many of us can relate to. Remember going on fantastic adventures in your imagination, where everything was possible?
I really enjoyed this film and would recommend it. Take some tissues though.
