The movie
Cars exists in an alternate Universe inhabited by only cars and other automobiles including trucks, helicopters and tractors. Even flys are little cars with wings. The story centers around Lightning McQueen a race car just making it big in the racing world and with the ego to match. In transit to California for the tiebreaking race that will make his career he gets lost and winds up in a small town on Highway 66 - Radiator Springs - where he must fix the town road after he accidently destroyed it. Though he will do anything to get away from the work, McQueen must learn to respect and bond with the Radiator Springs inhabitants in order to get out of the town and back on the racetracks.
Cars is the newest film from Animated film giants Pixar. It is an entertaining family story with stunning visual art, loveable characters (especially my favorite: Mater) and the original storyline we've come to expect from Pixar.
Though not as good as Pixar's biggest hit Finding Nemo the film meets the companies previously set High Standard and is an enjoyable two hours at the cinema.
Also included with the film is the entertaining short film 'One Mad Band' and stay during Cars credits to see car versions of Pixar's previous films including Finding Nemo and Toy Story
Cars is definitely a film worth seeing.
