Chasing Liberty
Review by: Kat

I'm a big fan of Mandy Moore. Her performance in 'A walk to Remember' led me to expect a great hollywood career. However, more and more I find myself becoming disappointed.

Chasing Liberty is the story of Anna, the US President's daughter. 18-year-old Anna is tired of the lack of freedom in her life. She can't on a date with a guy without flocks of secret serving in cheap suits and sunglasses. While going on a Politcal trip to Europe with her parents Anna insists on being allowed to go to a concert with no secret service. While there she realizes her father has broken his promise and sent agents. So 'liberty' (as the secret service refer to her as) takes her liberty into her own hands and runs with the help of a cute young British guy that happened to be outside the concert. Only, he has a secret.

So the film makes no big statement. It's a fun little romp with no lasting impresion and many irritable elements. Anna's determination is to lose her virginity to Ben, seemingly just for the sake of it which is a rather irresponsible message to be sending to the films young audience.

After hearing bad reviews I viewed this film expecting very little; as it was I did enjoy it more then I expected to but I was still greatly disappointed.

My advice is to go not expecting much and to try to enjoy the film as much as you can.
