Good Morning Baltimore! Tracy Turnblad (Nikki Blonsky), a plump teenager with an enormous passion for dancing, dreams of appearing on ‘The Corny Collins Show,’ one of the hippest dance shows on Tv. Nothing is going to stop Tracey from perusing her dreams, not even her mother Edna (John Travolta), who tells her that her figure has and will always set her aside from everyone else. After a talk with her father Wilbur (Christopher Walkin), Tracey decides to go for it!

Once Corny Collins (James Marsden) sees Tracey dance, he immediately wants Tracey on the show. Tracey then becomes an instant star. She brings the energy and pizzazz that everyone just loves. Fellow dancer, Amber Von Tussle (Brittany Snow) grows jealous over the fact that the audience is in love with Tracey. However, it’s not just the audience that falls for Tracey, Amber’s sweetheart, Link Larkin (Zac Efron) begins to show interest in Tracey.

Tracey and Amber battle it out over the ‘Miss Teenage Hairspray’ crown. Tracey teams up with Motormouth Maybelle (Queen Latifah) for a march to fight for integration; which then lands Tracey in jail. Has Tracey’s fight for integrated television killed her career? Will she win the title of Miss Teenage Hairspray? Will television become integrated? Tracy is a big girl with even bigger dreams and she proves that you don’t have to fit in to win.

Hairspray will keep a smile on your face throughout the entire movie! It’s one of those good ‘ol classic movies. Even though it’s a remake, it has taken a shape of it’s own.

Nikki Blonsky does an amazing job for her first movie debut. She keeps her energy pumped and her spirit enthusiastic from beginning to end.

Hairspray is a heart filled movie. You most definitely have to check it out!
