Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour
Review by: Kat

“Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus 3-D” movie turned out to be one of my favorite movies of all time. “Hannah Montana” fans everywhere have a chance to see their favorite singer and actress, Miley Cyrus, perform her sold-out concert tour on the big screen. The concert was shot during Miley’s 54-city tour and exhibited in Disney Digital 3-D. She performs as both a solo artist and as her popular television character, Hannah Montana. The Director of this movie is Bruce Hendricks. Actors include: Miley Cyrus as Hannah Montana/Herself, Billy Ray Cyrus as Himself, Jonas Brothers as Themselves, and Kenny Ortega as Himself.

If you're a Miley/Hannah fan, you're going to enjoy this show. Though the theatre ticket is a bit expensive, it's quite a bit cheaper than the concert ticket and more likely available (and at my theatre, you can keep the glasses). It makes you feel like you're really at the concert, and honestly, you get a much better view of the whole thing this way than you would have to see it live.

Once we were seated, with our awesome 3-D glasses, the theater manager came in and told the excited crowd that "this is a concert, not a regular movie, and we want you to enjoy it like a concert, so get up on your feet, sing along, and have fun!"

Musically, the mix is great, never outstanding and the vocals always felt low on volume to me. Except for the sweet song that Miley wrote for her Grandfather. That's one of the times you could hear the individuality in her voice. The tunes are bubble-gum pop with a hint of 80's rock. I was hoping she might do a duet with her father on stage, but no such luck. But, the two did play guitar together behind the scenes.

One of the highlights of the show is when Disney trio the Jonas Brothers joins their friend onstage. They sing one song with Hannah, and then perform on their own to give Hannah time to transform into Miley for the second half of the show. The choreography, band, dancers, and pyrotechnics were all amazing. I definitely enjoyed and loved the behind-the-scenes segments throughout this concert film.

The first segment shows Hannah and performers practicing their routines. I think it's great for kids to see that Miley doesn't just wake up polished. She makes mistakes, she practices, there's a learning and work involved. We also see the real-girl side of Miley, when she was dropped on stage during a lift one night. As it turns out, she was scared to attempt the stunt again. It took both her mother and Kenny Ortega and several practices to ensure her safety.

Lastly, it's good for kids to see that Hannah and Miley are unique individuals. Hannah is make-believe and Miley brings her to life, but Miley is a real live person, Hannah is not. Overall, this is a fun experience sure to entertain young fans. Obviously, there's no imitating the real thing. But it's as close as you'll come to achieving the best of both worlds. It is very fun, energetic and awesome movie colorful and sparkly as well.
