I've heard say this was Lindsay's worst film. Not at all! (Confessions of a teenage Drama Queen earns that honour) Just remember it's a family film and go with the sillyness. There's a few good oneliners and the performances are great. Herbie's a sweet, fun character. The story is actually quite good when you compare it to some of todays family films.

Check it out if you're a Lindsay fan. Not as bad as you might think.

The 1960s Volkswagen beetle is back, and better then ever! Only this time, he's chauffeuring Miss Lindsay Lohan around the track. Lindsay plays Maggie Peyton, a recent college graduate who learns that her dad's NASCAR group isn't doing so well. If her brother doesn’t win, they'll go out of business! Her brother isn't the best racer in the group, and it isn't looking like it will get any better. But after a tragic accident from way back when, Maggie has been banned from racing.

Meanwhile, the beetle with an engine for speed has been dumped into a car junkyard and it's not looking to good for it. With very little money, Maggie's dad gives Maggie a graduation present, an old car. Because of circumstances, Maggie chooses Herbie, though she wants a real racer. Little does she know about Herbie on the track. Maggie, undeniably disappointed with her new car, goes to fix it up, and meets her high school sweetheart (Matt Dillion). Together, they let Herbie rip it off. Now, it's up to Maggie and Herbie to beat Dale Earnhardt, one of the most competitive drivers in the buisness. Can Herbie pull it off one last time?

The plotline isn't as hard to follow as it seems. The plotline can be cheesy at times, but it's a little funny. But your never to old to see a silly talk-to-the-car movie.
