Mamma Mia Reviews
Review by: Rosina

Don’t go into the movie theatre with your expectations too high, and you should come out having enjoyed the movie. The story tells of Sophie, a bride to be who wants her father to be at her wedding. However, she doesn’t know who he is! She invites three possible men, and tries to discover who her real father is whilst learning more about her self at every step of her journey. And, of course, it’s all set to the amazing music of Abba.

Who can forget such hits as ‘SOS’, ‘Dancing Queen’ and ‘Take a chance on me’? If you’re an Abba fan, you will not be disappointed as a large amount of their best songs are used, and you’ll find yourself unable to resist tapping your feet along. The plot is far from groundbreaking, but it’s enough to keep you interested and really compliments the choice of songs. The film is also very funny, with the likes of Colin Firth and Julie Walters providing much of the comic relief.

I think the main appeal of the film is that it has something for everyone to enjoy, and you could see it with your family, friends and even your boyfriend if he likes Abba! The film could clearly be defined as a ‘feel-good movie’. It won’t be winning an Oscar any time soon, but I found myself with a smile on my face the whole way through and I’m sure you will too. If you want to take a break from all the big summer Blockbusters and just have some fun, then this is the ticket!
