Mean Creek Review

When a group of teenagers plot revenge on a young bully they soon find their worlds turned upside down when a tame prank turns deadly serious. They are ultimately faced with a moral dilemna and decision that will affect them for the rest of their lives.

Mean Creek is a chilling film that cruises along through idyllic scenery and introduces relatable young characters before finally pulling the rug out from beneath the viewers feet and plunging them into a horrific situation. The film is stunningly directed and truly a work of tragic beauty. The performances of the young stars are pure perfection and each brings their character to life with honesty and intuition that is rarely seen from performers so young. The story is thought provoking and unforgettable.

Definitely a film worth checking out. But be warned: there is no happy ending.
