Monster in Law

Monster in law is neither an entirely pleasing or entirely displeasing experience. The film somehow seems to never pick up momentum and slowly meanders from one funny scene to another, with little to entertain in between.

The chemistry between Jennifer Lopez and Jane Fonda is affective and pulls you in. Perhaps the films only true achievement is the actual monster in law relationship. The characters are otherwise weak and hard to empathize with. Jennifer Lopez plays an annoying, naive, sweat character that she's played many times before.

The film definitely has entertaining moments but isn't a must see. I far prefer 'The Wedding Planner' if you're looking for a good Romantic Comedy starring J-Lo.
