The Notebook
Review by: Kat

You know that cliche 'The book was so much better'? For me, the film 'The Notebook' is the first movie that doesn't abide under that law. I personally loved the movie a hundred times more then the book.

The Notebook is an epic romance spanning 50 years. An elderly man in a retirement home reads to an elderly women from a notebook every day. The story he reads is one of young lovers Allie Hamilton and Noah Calhoun and their passionate relationship in 50's America. Ultimately Allie's wealthy parents view broke Noah as the wrong match for their daughter Allie and interfere putting a halt to their relationship. But when newly engaged Allie sees a picture of Noah in a newspaper she feels the need to go back and see her first love once more sparking their relationship anew, now complicated by the changes that have taken place in both of them since they last met.

The Notebook is a beautiful tearjerker romance and the ultimate 'chick flick'. You'll laugh and cry and fall 100% in love with the characters and their story.

The film has fantastic performances from all the main cast members: Rachel McAdams, Ryan Gosling, Gena Rowlands and James Garner.

A MUST see!
