By Elizabeth Satingin

Rated: Pg-13

Based on a true story set in San Francisco, Chris Gardner (Will Smith) is a single father struggling to fulfill his American dream of being happy. With taking care of his son, they have to make ends meet on a very little budget after his wife left him and their son.

Chris lands an internship at a prestigious stock brokerage firm. He needs to do well in order to then land the job at the end of the internship.

While not in good circumstances, Chris and his son shift from their apartment, which they are then evicted from, a motel, then to miscellaneous shelters. They find themselves with nothing left but each other.

Chris cares for his son with love and affection of a father. His son gives him the strength to keep on going to pursue their dreams.

The Pursuit of Happyness is a heart filled film that touches your inner emotions. Smith’s performance demonstrates his ability to adapt to a real life story.
