Robots
Review by: Kat

Even in a world populated entirely by mechanical beings Rodney Copperbottom (Ewan McGregor) is considered a genius inventor. Rodney dreams of two things, making the world a better place and meeting his idol, the master inventor Bigweld (Mel Brooks). On his journey he encounters Cappy (Halle Berry), a beautiful executive `bot with whom Rodney is instantly smitten, the nefarious corporate tyrant Ratchet (Greg Kinnear) who locks horns with Rodney, and a group of misfit `bots known as the Rusties, led by Fender (Robin Williams) and Piper Pinwheeler (Amanda Bynes).

Robots is an absolute feast of beautiful bright colour and breathtaking scenery; though story falls short in many places (it somehow lacks momentum and gets a little quiet at points) the scenery certainly makes up for this pitall

The characters are well developed and easy to relate to. Morals of never giving up on your dream and 'shining no matter what you're made of' are great messages.

The actors pull off their parts sucessfully. Ewan Mcgregor is great as Rodney, its almost hard to recognize him as he pulls off the American accent sucessfully. Robin Williams' character of Fender is one of the best things about the film 'Stick with me, I know this town like the back of my hand *looks at hand* Hey! That's new!'. As an Amanda Bynes fan I must also point out she did the voice of her character sucessfully and it was amazing how much the character physically resembled her, not in colour or anything just mannerisms etc.

Robots is a fun adventure with great oneliners and beautiful scenery! Take your little brother, take you grandmother and have fun!
