The Alamo is the story of 180 Texans who fight for their freedom at the Battle and Siege of the Alamo, including Alabamian William Barret Travis, (played by the gorgeous Patrick Wilson), Jim Bowie (Jason Patric), and Davy Crockett (Billy Bob Thorton). Others in the movie are Sam Houston played by The Parent Trap's Dennis Quaid.

This is a wonderful movie that is presented in a entertaining yet still historically-correct way. I believe they couldn't have done a better job with the casting of this film. When other Alamo movies are shown, the character of Davy Crockett makes Davy look like he was in his 20s. Billy Bob Thorton is a much older guy and it is true that when Davy Crockett died at the fall of the Alamo, he was 50 years old.
