Uptown Girls Review

Review by Gemmzie:

Uptown Girls stars Brittany Murphy (Molly) as a young socialite who hits 22 and her whole life changes when she finds out that all her dead parent's money is gone and that for the first time in her life she's going to have to work.

She is hired as a nanny for the precocious little Ray (the adorable Dakota Fanning), who has grown up far too fast and is neglected by her workaholic mother (Heather Locklear). These two girls from different worlds become friends and as Ray teaches Molly to grow up, Ray is herself being taught how to behave like a child.

This movie is sentimental and quite predictable but has more heart than the average comedy/drama and is enjoyable to the very last slushy scene. An excellent movie for teens and beyond, ideal for a girl’s night in, with a slightly corny but faultlessly fitting soundtrack.
