X-Men Origins: Wolverine Reviews
Review by: Melissa

So I just got out of seeing X-Men Origins: Wolverine and I had to get my opinions down. I have a very short opinion and a longer one. The short one comes from the side of me that actually knows my comic book heroes. From that point of view...the movie pretty much sucks. To be fair though, its not like the last 3 X-Men movies held true to the comics either. Going into this one, I had long since gotten over the idea that I would get my comic book heroes. (1. From a comic educated (as Ryan Reynolds says) viewpoint, its the movies, you can make a lot of crazy things happen. 2. But from a producer side, getting the average moviegoer to accept a character constantly coming back to life (as a lot of X-men characters do) is pushing it.) So from the standard movie-goer's point of view, how does Wolverine hold up? One word... Awesome!! Hugh Jackman is fantastic and the committment to the role is great. Sure its purely a looks thing with the muscles, but it looks good. Plus, we get some new characters and not nearly as many lame powers (sorry Storm).

**SPOILERS***

Some favorite points include
-Gambit (Taylor Kitsch of Friday Night Lights) The fangirl side of me hates that Gambit has a texan accent (hello! Remy is french/creole!), but Gambit is just cool. He has multiple powers and his card tricks are fantastic.
-Silverfox. (Lynn Collins) She's only known as Logan's girlfriend and I don't think the name is ever mentioned. But she is called Silverfox and its a nice turn in the movies. Gorgeous enough to make sense as a love of Wolverine and you certainly won't be expecting to see her as often as you do.
-Any moment with Liev Schreiber (Sabretooth) The dude's just cool.
-Oh, and a head's up to Summit-yes, you can make a person look like they have diamond skin. It's called open up the wallet a little! Maybe X-men can show you how!
-Finally, Deadpool. Okay, I hate, hate, hate Deadpool because he's so off from the comic book character. BUT...for where it seems the movie franchise is trying to go, Ryan Reynolds is the perfect casting. He can perfectly embody at least the Merc with a Mouth standard.

Overall, the movie does a good job of entertaining, plenty of standard Wolverine bits, great fights, one-liners, and explosions. Go, enjoy it and stay after the credits for the bonus feature. (Also, there are 2 bonus features after the credits. Two with Deadpool and one with Wolverine and possibly one with Sabretooth)
