The World's fastest Indian Reviews

Review #1 by Kat

The World's fastest Indian is the story of New Zealand Burt Munro (Anthony Hopkins), who spent his life working on a 1920 Indian motorcycle. His journey began in Invercargil and led him to Utah's Bonneville Salt Flats where, in 1967, he broke the world land spend record which remains unbroken to this day. The film chronicles his journey and ultimately his success.

As a New Zealander I very much enjoyed seeing a fellow countryman portrayed so accurately. The film is slow but true and 'One hell of a story', the dry humour keeps the pace bearable. Anthony Hopkins performance is Burt is absolutely floorless. The host of eccentric and kind hearted characters he encounter on the way pepper the story with variety.

Overall, this is an inspiring film worth checking out.

This movie very much portrays a Southland Man from New Zealand. Although Anthony Hopkins accent was more North American than Ingvercargill-an, it was told amazingly well. It makes you fell feel sorry for Burt, happy for him and makes you laugh at some of the things he faced. It sticks very true to the biography of Burt Munro, including the fact he was a womanizer. I come from Invercargill and some of the things 'Burt' said, I could see my own Grandfather saying. I loved it, the story of how a New Zealander can make it big.
